VENUE ASSISTANT

The Tuscaloosa Amphitheater is a 7,500 seat outdoor music venue that sits beautifully on 15 acres amidst the banks of the Black Warrior River. Located only minutes away from the University of Alabama campus, the Amphitheater is the largest outdoor theater in West Alabama and a premier location for arts and entertainment. 

ROLE & IMPACT

  • Contributed to the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures for a new 7,500-capacity venue, ensuring alignment with industry best practices, a high-quality standard of safety regulations, and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

  • Assisted in overseeing the day-to-day operations of a nationally-promoted concert venue, including contract negotiations, billing, event promotion, and coordination with operational vendors.

  • Fostered strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, such as production vendors, City departments, elected officials, and sponsors, to align event goals and ensure the successful the execution of concerts and other events.

  • Supported the development of performance metrics and actionable insights to continuously refine operational strategies, elevate the guest experience, and maximize revenue streams, including food and beverage sales, sponsor brand activations, and merchandise sales.

  • Played a pivotal role in the development and operations of new City venues, including the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater, Tuscaloosa River Market, and Mildred Westervelt Transportation Museum, advancing cultural and entertainment initiatives.

  • Co-founded and managed the City of Tuscaloosa Arts & Entertainment internship program, responsible for recruiting, hiring, and overseeing interns while partnering with the University of Alabama to foster talent development.

  • Nominated for Best New Major Concert Venue by Pollstar (2011).
