Waterloo Greenway is a 1.5-mile park system with the power to bring the entire Austin community together. Once complete, the 35 acres of connected green space will be home to a wild array of natural and cultural destinations. Amid epic gardens and rolling pathways, anything can transpire at Waterloo Greenway. Flowing seamlessly into the surrounding natural fabric, this creative space is an open invitation for you to be inspired, enlightened, and astounded.

ROLE & IMPACT

  • Key Leadership Role in $265M Public-Private Partnership: Collaborated in the design and operations of over 35 acres of public parks in downtown Austin, Texas. Played a pivotal role in shaping of strategies and systems for long-term sustainability, focusing on financial planning, talent acquisition, staff development, and cultivating meaningful relationships that reflect and serve the diverse needs of the population.

  • Programming Strategy and Equity Framework: Directed the development and implementation of the organization’s Programming Strategic Plan, embedding an equity-based framework to strengthen both internal and external partnerships. Led the creation of a diverse slate of events designed to support organizational objectives, increase earned revenue, and strengthen community engagement.

  • Maximizing Public Engagement and Brand Visibility: Leveraged Waterloo Greenway's unique natural and cultural venues to drive public engagement, elevate brand visibility, and support both philanthropic and earned revenue goals. Established Waterloo Greenway as a premier local and national destination, while navigating the competitive regional market.

  • Event Management for Revenue and Community Impact: Directed the annual event calendar to maximize revenue-generating opportunities while balancing the need for accessible, community-based programs. Ensured all events aligned with organizational values and long-term goals.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership in Event Coordination: Led a cross-functional team to drive sales, planning, and execution of internal and external events, consistently achieving revenue and community impact targets Acted as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, production vendors, sponsors, and community-based organizations. Managed event goals, negotiated contracts, and ensured seamless execution of programs and events.

  • Operational Excellence in a Nationally Recognized Venue: Provided leadership in the development of high-quality operational standards to meet the year-round needs of 11-acre multi-disciplinary public green space and performing art venue. Implemented best practices, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), to optimize operations, maximize revenue, and enhance the guest experience.

  • Marketing & Communication Strategies: Collaborated to develop targeted communications and marketing strategies to raise brand awareness and engage audiences across multiple platforms, ensuring effective promotion of all programs and events.

  • Data-Driven Event Strategy: Created and tracked key performance metrics to evaluate the success of events, providing insights to refine and improve future event planning, operational processes, and overall outcomes.
